Where Art Meets Fire..... |

What is PMC? |
Precious metal clay (PMC) is a revolutionary material that has tiny particles of
silver or gold suspended in an organic binder to make a material that can be sculpted
like clay. It is then kiln fired at a high temperature to remove the
binder and produces an object that is pure silver (.999) or gold (24K). It can be combined with glass, high heat resistant
gemstones and other metals to make beautiful jewelry...simply magic. |
What is Dichroic glass? |
The word Dichroic actually means two colors. Each different color of glass
appears to have a different color when viewed from different angles or in varying
degrees of light. Dichroic glass is created by adding thin layers of metallic
oxides to the glass in a vacuum. This process produces glass which
transmits certain wavelengths while reflecting others, causing an irridescent
effect as seen on peacock feathers or insect wings. In short, it's beautiful,
sparkling and ever changing, making it perfect for jewelry. Most of
my dichro glass cabs are layered and fired several times to get the desired effects. |
